Jargon File & The New Hackers Dictionary

For those of you who don’t know about the “Jargon File” or “The New Hackers Dictionary” you are either new to the computer hacker scene, not a computer person, or just are plain unlucky enough to not know about it. The short of it, is that it is a collection of jargon (slang) that computer nerds know of/use. A good deal of it is now common to see in the new age of internet culture. However, no matter your background you will probably find terms you didn’t know of or at the minimum a clever story from hacker lore. Either way, it is a good read!

You can find the currently maintained copy at http://catb.org/jargon/ by Eric S. Raymond or just simply as ESR as some call him.

I also found out that http://www.jargonfile.net was not registered, so I nabbed it. It is currently redirecting to http://catb.org/jargon/ out of respect. I am thinking about making an AJAX based front end for it or … maybe not. Depends on what I feel like doing.
