OPP - 2007 - Session 2 - Quest SQL Optimizer

Session 2 was a bust! It was covering Quest’s SQL Optimizer application. However it only showed its feeble ability to help serious developers and serious DBAs. If anything it helps poll SGA for information however it still remains a feeble attempt at automated SQL tuning. The presenter was pretty good and if any shortfall was seen it was the subject matter being presented on. I had higher hopes for this application! Not as a panacea, but as usefull tool that did more than just make it easier to be a lazy DBA.
